This is a wonderful antique five-light cast brass chandelier with its original, beautifully aged turquoise polychrome finish, dating from the 1920 s. The chandelier begins with a canopy ornamented with an unusual fence-like pattern, composed of pointed turquoise tabs connected by a band. Connected to the canopy by a chain, the chandelier body is crowned with a brass volute finial. Adorned with a five-petal floret with aqua accents, the finial comes down to a bold turquoise section that supports five faux-hammered bands that form the chandelier body. A slender brass pole runs down the center of the chandelier, ending in an arrangement of green and gold polychrome lily leaves. Below the leaves is a turquoise section to which the bands are fastened. From there, the bands flare out to form the chandelier arms, each reinforced with a smooth, curled band with a turquoise japanned finish. The bobeches repeat the fence pattern found on the canopy. A magnificent brass finial, composed of volutes crossed with a sword and accented in the center with a floret, completes the piece. This light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. It measures approx. 19 wide, 21 tall, and 41 long overall.
