This fascinating chandelier dates to the 1940 s and is constructed of hammered iron with an original darkened silver and black finish. The chandelier displays five simple candle-cups anchored by very dramatic and lovely fleur-de-lis styled straps around a hammered and scalloped center ring. The piece is suspended from five curled bands, which meet at a central loop making up a cluster that meets the heavy chain. This is a great, antique chandelier for those wanting a robust piece, but do not have the ceiling height to accommodate most larger chandeliers as this light fixture can be set up to have as little as a 25 drop. This light fixture is in excellent condition, and would suit any Gothic Revival, Tudor, or Old World d cor. Initially French in origin, it has been professionally rewired to American standards and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation.
