This is a wonderful antique five-light iron chandelier, dating from the 1920’s. It begins with a splendid canopy ornamented with foliate designs and a leaf-and-dart pattern, and comes down in a chain to a foliate loop resting atop a pole. Attached to the pole with florets just below the loop are five curled iron bands, which angle outward to form the body of the chandelier. They meet at a small cylindrical piece at the base of the chandelier, fastened with florets, and curve back up to form the chandelier arms. Atop the curve at the end of each arm rests a splendid foliate bobeche formed of a double tier of leaves. The bottom of the chandelier finishes in a lovely acanthus leaf finial. This light fixture is in excellent condition with a wonderful patina; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. It measures 20 ½†wide, 17†tall, and 35†long overall.
