This is a splendid antique bronze five-light Neoclassical chandelier, circa 1905, with prismatic shades. The chandelier begins with an egg-and-dart canopy, coming down in a chain to a round chandelier body. Four bronze egg-and-dart shade holders hang from the perimeter of the chandelier body, accented with beautifully detailed acanthus leaves. Each of the four holds a signed Holophane shade. An intricate medallion, formed of volutes and acanthus leaves, adorns the center of the chandelier body. A gadrooned finial supports the fifth shade holder, with an unsigned holophane shade. This light fixture is in excellent condition with a fantastic patina; the glass is also in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks, just the expected fleabites around the rims. The chandelier has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. This light fixture measures 23†wide, 20†tall (body only), and 42 ½†long overall.
