This is a striking antique cast brass Federal six-light chandelier, dating from the 19th Century. Originally holding candles, this figural chandelier has been converted to electricity. The bottom of the chandelier begins in a grooved bass orb, with a baluster body coming up to a splendid eagle with outspread wings, standing in front of a quatrefoil loop. Below the eagle are six scalloped medallions. The chandelier arms, formed of volutes and featuring simple wax-pans and candle-cups, branch off from a ring surrounding the baluster. This light fixture is in excellent condition. It has been professionally wired for electricity and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The width of the chandelier is 16 ½â€, the length of the chandelier only is 17â€, and the overall length is 32â€.
