This is a fantastic antique Federal five-light figural chandelier, dating from the 1920’s, in silver plate and brass. The chandelier begins with a canopy ornamented with a leaf-and-dart pattern and rope detail, and comes down in a chain to a splendid, silver plated eagle with outspread wings. Underneath the eagle are three shields, with a swag encircling the chandelier body below. Five U-shaped arms, each supporting bobeches encircled with grooves, extend from the bottom of the chandelier. The chandelier finishes in a spike with an orb. This light fixture is in excellent condition with a beautifully aged finish; the chandelier has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The width of the chandelier is 17â€, the length of the chandelier body only is 18â€, and the overall length is 32 ¾â€.
