This is a fabulous antique Neoclassical five-light chandelier with “icicle†prisms, in its original silver plate finish over brass. The chandelier is signed by its maker, Robert Findlay Mfg. Co. of Brooklyn, NY. Circa 1910, this silver plated chandelier begins with an elegant loop finial with acanthus leaves below, attached to a baluster shaped section which supports a chandelier body accented with dangling prisms. The body flares out to a pan body, from which extend four chandelier arms ornamented with shells, bellflowers, and grape clusters. Hanging from each arm is a splendid bobeche adorned with a beautifully cast swag and shell pattern and sparkling prisms. The bottom of the chandelier finishes in acanthus leaves and prisms, with a large teardrop prism hanging from the center. This light fixture is in excellent condition with a lovely patina; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The width of the chandelier is 20 ½â€, the length of the chandelier body only is approx. 24â€, and the overall length is approx. 39â€. A matching five-light chandelier is also available, listed under item # NC567-RW.
