Breathtaking antique gilded chandelier with 24 lights and original crystal prisms, dating from the 19th century. Found in Nashville, this Louis XVI chandelier features a gorgeous foliate canopy with detailed acanthus leaves and a substantial body of branch-like arms and sparkling prisms. The ormolu fixture features a center rod surrounded by an undulating baluster glass body. Graceful foliate arms branch out from the body, growing up and out to support leafy bobeches and gadrooned candle cups. The chandelier's 24 lights were originally candles, since electrified. Swags of crystal prisms drape from arm to arm, with stunning French cut crystal pendalogue prisms dangling throughout. A crystal hand cut ball with starburst detail hangs from a final pinecone finial. This chandelier is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all necessary attachments for modern installation. It measures approximately 37" wide, 46-1/2" tall (body only), and 88" long overall.
