Stunning antique 8-light chandelier by the renowned New York maker E.F. Caldwell. It features unsurpassed quality and superb casting characteristic of Caldwell, and dates from the early 1900's. This chandelier is silver plated over bronze. The canopy begins with an arched border on the base, with vertical bellflower bands leading to a gadrooned bottom. Below, the loop finial has beautiful incised details and a roped border. The chandelier's upper body begins with three cherubic figures, whose bodies are made up of gorgeous floral and grape details. Eight scrolling, curved arms extend from the urn-shaped lower body of the chandelier, and each is accented by a beautifully detailed bobeche. The chandelier finishes in a pinecone finial. The entire piece is incised with intricate scrolling foliage. This light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 26" wide and 21-1/2" tall, and the fixture is 39" long overall.
