This is an imposing antique brass five-light chandelier that dates from the late 1800’s or early 1900’s. It begins with its original scalloped and fluted canopy, from which the chain comes down to a simple ring set in a ribbed finial. The body of the chandelier has a domed top that comes down into a handsome, wide cylindrical ribbed body, and finishes in an inverted dome underneath. The underside of the body is ornamented with an intricate pentagonal appliqué, which features a large, stylized five-petal flower with foliate and volute detail. Five fluted arms extend from the body, ending in acorn shaped finials. Each arm supports a bell-shaped shade holder that flares up into a ribbed border; the holders have been fitted with striking vintage holophane shades. This light fixture is in very good antique condition, and the glass is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. It measures 32†wide, 21†tall, and 48†long overall.
