This gorgeous Louis XV style, Dore bronze chandelier from the 1850s displays unsurpassed casting, French crystal pendalogues with hand-cut starburst, smooth as well as zipper cut crystal spears, and of course beautiful foliate adornments. This three tier chandelier was originally all gas powered, with five main arms supporting four lights each and the next tier showcasing five arms with one light each. A very unique and rare aspect of this marvelous chandelier is that, while each of the five main chandelier arms holding four candelabras has a main gas key, each light has an individual gas key for precise adjustments. This piece is also figural as it boasts the visage of five remarkably cast lions surrounding the upper tier. This astounding chandelier is signed by the maker with “B R.†The chandelier is in excellent condition and it has been professionally rewired; it is original with the exception of two small gas keys, which look to have been replaced 100 years ago. These replacements are unnoticeable. The overall diameter is 42â€; the minimum length of the chandelier is 52â€; the overall length can be adjusted to the suit the buyer’s need. The canopy of this piece is not pictured.
