A wonderful antique brass five-light chandelier by Beardslee, dating from the 1920’s. This chandelier design was patented in 1927 by Anton Dvorak of Berwyn, IL, patent # 1,629,489. The patent number is marked on the chandelier. The chandelier begins with an elegant acanthus canopy, descending in a chain to a heart-shaped polychrome loop with flowers and volutes. Below, the chandelier features a baluster body ornamented with leaves and an acorn finial. Five smooth, S-curved arms extend from the top of the chandelier, with acanthus-leaf bobeches accented with icicle prisms and connected to each other by a garland of clear glass beads. This light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 18-1/2†wide and 15-1/2†tall, and the fixture is 32-1/2†long overall.
