From the Art Deco period, two names for quality and design are well recognized by collectors: Lightolier and Consolidated Glass. With this fixture, we have the best of these two companies.
From Lightolier's 1933 catalog we have a lovely example of the "Stylux" model 2641 six shade, but with five sockets, chandelier using some of the best that Consolidated glass made in shades. Right below this model, in the catalog, Lightolier states in BOLD letters: "Quality never disappoints".
Lightolier made this model both as a long drop with chain, and a lower drop for close ceiling applications. Here we have the lower ceiling version. It was priced in the 1933 catalog, in the raging depression, at $17.25. In our catalog, that 1933 price is crossed out and $20.25 is written in pencil. And it was the depression!
This Lightolier chandelier has been completely UL re-wired with 5 sockets to conform to UL guidelines. Each socket is capable of accepting a 100 watt bulb. It is totally ready to go and will be supplied with all the necessary mounting hardware.
Measurements: 18" tall by 17 1/2" wide.
Price for complete, UL re-wired 6 shade chandelier is $1450.00, plus careful shipping.
