Item #NC481
This is a fabulous antique five-light chandelier, dating from the 1920’s, in its original polychrome finish with vibrant red, green, and blue accents. The chandelier begins with an intricate canopy adorned with an egg-and-dart pattern with acanthus leaves, followed by a leaf-and-dart pattern. The chandelier comes down into an unusual final, ornamented with grape clusters and volutes, with a splendid oval gold and green spiderweb design in the center. Below the finial, the chandelier continues in an intricate design of volutes, green acanthus leaves, and red clusters of grapes. Five volute arms, ending in polychrome bobeches with foliate and volute detail, extend from the center of the chandelier and are joined by a pair of bands, with foliate accents at the midpoint between each arm. A second spiderweb finial dangles from the bottom of the chandelier. This light fixture is in excellent condition. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. It measures 15 ¾†wide, 16 ½†tall, and 34†long overall.
