This is a fabulous antique brass Arts and Crafts four-light chandelier, originally half gas and half electric, now all wired for electricity. Marked with an 1898 patent date, this fixture has a beautifully aged patina. Beginning with a four-sided brass canopy, the chandelier comes down in a four-sided pole to its rectangular body. The chandelier body is crowned with a pyramidal brass top, from which extends the squared body. Four arms extend from the chandelier body, ending in cubes which support understated shade holders and four-sided shades. Two arms were originally gas and have rectangular loop gas keys. The chandelier body is finished in a cube-shaped finial. This light fixture is in excellent condition, and the shades are also in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks, just the expected fleabites around the rims. The chandelier has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. It would be perfect for any Craftsman bungalow or Prairie style house. The chandelier body measures 24†wide and 10†tall, and the fixture is 38 ½†long overall.
