This is a fabulous pair of antique Georgian exterior door plates, dating from the late 1800’s. Made of cast brass, the plates are each crowned with an anthemion surrounded by volutes, with beautifully cast acanthus leaves curling around the volutes from the sides. Each plate features a convex oval panel in the center, which frames the furl and a larger opening for a lock cylinder. The bottom of the plate is finished in foliate detail and volutes springing from a fluted urn. These back plates are in excellent condition, with some minor paint splatters. Please note that the furls of the plates vary from each other (pictured). Each plate measures 2 ¾†wide and 10 ¾†tall.
