A remarkable vintage tilting door peep hole, patented in 1947 by Abe Nichols and Joseph Spector of Los Angeles. Unlike ordinary peepholes, this one tilts and swivels to facilitate “inspect[ion]†of “a person desirous of entering or attempting to enter the room or home.†This swiveling peephole has a lovely patina and functions well, and includes its original screws for mounting it to the door. The peep hole is 2 ¾†in diameter overall. A copy of the patent can be viewed here: http://www.freepatentsonline.com/2491758.pdf
