A very rare antique cast bronze entry door hardware set, dating from the late 1800’s. This figural door hardware set features magnificent, deeply cast detail with a dragon design. The cast bronze door plate features a winding floral design throughout, similar to Reading Hardware’s Columbian pattern, with a mythical beast surrounding the upper keyhole and a second at the bottom of the plate. The rose features a triple design with dragon heads, and the keyhole has a matching creature with floral detail. This set includes the large exterior doorplate with a swinging keyhole cover, a round doorknob escutcheon and a figural keyhole escutcheon for the inside, and a double keyhole lock. The backplate measures 2-7/8†wide and 11†long; the rosette is 2-1/8†diameter; and the keyhole is 1-/2†by 2-1/4â€. The lock has a faceplate 1-1/8†wide and 7-5/8†long, with a 3-1/8†backset. The lock body is 4-1/2†deep overall and 5-1/2†long. There is no doorknob included with this set, but it will accommodate a knob with a standard ¼†spindle – if you need a knob, let us know and we can find some good options for you.
