A rare pair of antique “Arabic†pocket door locks by Mallory, Wheeler, & Co., dating from the 1880’s, signed M.W. Co. These cast bronze pocket door mortise locks feature Arabic letters on a distinctive rippled background. One lock has a concave faceplate, and the other is convex, so that they fit together well when the doors are closed. The locks feature a push-button system with a pop-out handle. Each lock has a 1" x 6-5/8" faceplate, and each lock body measures 4-3/4" tall and 3-3/8" deep. The keyhole has a 2-3/8" backset.
