These are four matching antique door hardware sets by Russell & Erwin, with bronze doorknobs and iron door plates with their original bronze wash. The locks are signed and patent dated 1889. The backplates and locks feature R&E’s elegant “Villa” design, with crisp detail and a lovely finish. The bronze door knobs, original to the sets as found in a 19th Century home, are in a different pattern that coordinates beautifully with the doorplates and knobs. The knobs feature a flower in the center, surrounded by an overlapping fan pattern. These sets are in excellent condition and function beautifully. The knobs are 2 ¼” in diameter and 2” deep; the backplates are 5 ½” by 1 3/8”; and the plate on each mortise lock is 5 3/8” long and 15/16” wide.
