This is a hard-to-find complete working thumb-latch set for an exterior door, dating from the 1920’s or 1930’s. Made of brass, this door hardware set comes with its split-system lock, four keys, the handle with thumb latch, doorknob, striker, two-part spindle, and backplate. The cast brass handle features an elegant, curved design that is very comfortable in the hand; it has square beveled mounting plates and a matching square escutcheon for the lock cylinder. The inside of the set features a simple, beveled brass plate with a thumb-turn and a smooth brass knob. This entry door hardware has a lovely patina and works beautifully; it is in very good antique condition with some minor dings and scratches to the knob and the handle. The handle measures 8 ½†by 2 5/8â€, the interior doorplate is 7†by 2 ¼â€, and the doorknob is 2 ¼†in diameter and 2†deep. If desired, we can replace the brass knob with a glass one for a small additional cost.
