A splendid antique surface mount decorative bottom bolt for a door, dating from the 1880’s, in Reading Hardware’s “Windsor†design. This Eastlake foot bolt features a circle design, repeated in a stripe down the center of the bolt and as a border along the edges. To lock the bolt, you tap the top rectangular push button with your foot. It stays in place until released by the round button on the surface of the lock. This lock functions beautifully and retains almost all of its original black enameled background. The box measures 7 1/8†long and 2 ¼†wide overall, the latch portion is 5/8†long, and the push button at the top is ¾†long when extended.
