Antique black porcelain doorknobs, often called “black jet†doorknobs, in use primarily 1870’s to 1890’s. Frequently used in the Eastlake period as a simpler alternative to decorative metal knobs, these door knobs are porcelain over terra cotta, with iron stems. The price listed is for each set of doorknobs; each set includes two knobs with the connecting spindle and set screws. Each doorknob is approx. 2-1/4†in diameter and 2†deep. The condition varies; most of the knobs will have some paint splatters, scratches, and fleabites as shown. They can be cleaned for an additional $10 per set. In addition to the standard knobs pictured, we also have a few of these knobs designed for use with a rim lock; please inquire for availability.
