A hard-to-find antique “Columbian†entrance door hardware set by Reading Hardware, 1897. Made of darkened cast bronze, this hardware set features large figural doorknobs with a wolf’s head. The doorplate features a gorgeous Art Nouveau design with curling vines; the lock and reversible strike plate are ornamented with a matching design. The matching Columbian rosette features a raised gadrooned collar. This entry set includes a pair of doorknobs with the connecting spindle, a lock and matching strike plate, a doorplate, and a rosette. The larger doorknob is 2-5/8†in diameter and approx. 3†deep; the smaller doorknob is 2-1/4†in diameter and 2-3/4†deep; the backplate is 2-5/8†wide by 8-1/2†tall; the rosette is 2†diameter. The lock has a faceplate 1-1/8†wide and 5-7/8†long, with an approx. 2-5/8†backset. The lock body is 3-11/16†tall and 3-1/4†deep overall. The striker measures 2-5/8" wide by 8-1/2" tall.
