Art Deco Murano /Venetian glass double figurine of a prancing nude woman and reindeer. Made in Italy. Believed to date to the Art Deco period (2nd quarter of 20th century). Measures almost 9 inches max height; 9 1/2 inches front to back. Stands on a rectangular wooden base. Glass is marbled off-white, clear in the extremities such as fingers and toes, tips of horns and hooves. Two seperate figures prance gleefully - the woman stands on the ball of one foot, the other raised as she dances and runs, her arms thrown up in joy. Her hair flies up as she moves. Alongside her the reindeer echoes her movement - front legs thrown forward casually, back legs and horns arching backwards. The figure is full of movement and joy. Wonderful form and brilliant restraint in the use of only one colour. Clear technical mastery. No signature to be seen. Very good condition - no damage/restoration. Huge vintage cut glass centerpiece bowl, from the estate of a 93 year old collector. Probably American, dating to the early 20th century.Measures11 1/4inches accross at widest point and 6 3/8inches high.Very thick glass, cut deeply with radiating miters. Bottom is round with deep facets that flare up and out to an oval, dipping in height on the sides. The long, elegant v-shaped cuts all the way up are embellished only with fine cross cutting, echoed in the vertical parrallel lines cut along the margin, called a blaze / fringe. 18-pointed star underneath. Each of the 3 sides is hand enamelled with a fern leaf in red, green and yellow with white and gold highlights. Berries and fine gold leaves dance around them. Elegant double lipped dish on a long pedestal leg. About 1920''s. Stands 6 1/8inches high. Gorgeous elegant shape further refined with foliate and fruit patterned cut glass and curling edges. Long stem leg has moulded petals like a flower around the bottom. Front and back of rim are curled and cut like a fan. Both sides curl down to a very elegant mouth.
