Excellent glass no chips or cracks. 19th century having a pointed pewter lid. Made in Germany There is a signed piece about a 1/4" on the top of the glass by the hinged lid.
Old manufacturers started making stein with pewter lids because of the plagues. Stein making started in 1859 until the war. Starting up again in 1918, but by that time most people stopped using them daily.
Conical steeple lids are the most common and cheapest models you can buy.
