Twisted lobe shape to this large crystal Victorian globular scent bottle - same style of pattern on sterling silver lid, which is hallmarked for Birmingham (England) 1889. Maker's mark is for John Grinsell & Sons. The screw cap is gilded inside, and there is an internal stopper in a silver collar. This is a bottle of excellent quality and beautiful design. It measures 12.5 cm high and 9.7 cm diameter. Very good condition - minor faults are a tiny dents in the cap sides (but the pattern and reflections makes these less noticeable) and a few ripples in the collar around the stopper. Underneath the base is wear to the crystal, which is a true sign of age. (Not seen from above).
