Antique perfume bottle made of blue glass cut to clear, profusely handpainted with flowers. Believed to be French and dates to 19th century. Measures approx 4 3/4 inches high. Approx 5 1/4 inches in diameter at widest part. OUtstanding perfume bottle. Shape reminiscent of a woman dancing in a wide swirling dress. Bottom is cut in wide, ridged radiating rays. Slopes up to the bottom of the ''skirt'', which is shaped in concentric cut swags. Radiating from the neck in triangular, stepped panels, bordered by blue glass. WIthin are a myriad of tiny handpainted flowers - beautifully depicted in very fine detail. Each section and panel is different. Flowers from violets, to morning glory, roses anemones etc. Stopper in corresponding swirling blue cut to clear glass with flowers in triangular panels. Good condition. Some negligible nibbles underneath, mentioned only for the sake of accuracy of description.
