Early 20th century Czech art glass bottle with bronze cap/stopper and rings. Almost identical bottle is to be found in the best books on Bohemian glass. Original function may be either a perfume / scent bottle or, it''s been suggested, a Christmas ornament for hanging from the tree. Stands 5 1/8inches high. 3 1/4inches accross at widest point. Amber - olive ribbed glass bedecked with white peacock marks with blue centers. They are part of the glass, not applied and illustrate the incredible mastery of technique of the artist. The slightly irregular round shape of the neck (see photo) also shows that the piece was handmade. Bronze ball stopper fits snugly into the neck. It has a loop and two rings attached to it.
