Fine early Galle stick vase with a profusion of spider chrysanthemums etched on the sides of the vase. This is probably one of Galle''s first attempts at true cameo glass. His earlier works had the ruffled top and bottom like this piece but were enameled rather than acid etched. You can see the beginnings of his skill in glass in this piece as well as the newness of the art. The is a ''run'' in the internal acid dip that frosted the glass as this was one of his first attempts to create this process. Nice old vertical chinese style signature that is an early sign as well. This beauty stands 16'' tall and is in perfect condition with no damage or repairs what-so-ever. Color is a bit off. With auto color the vase goes a little darker than the first pic the real color is in between the 2 colors. Circa 1890 and as early a piece of Galle cameo glass as you will ever find.
