A Bohemian Cut Glass Pokel or Goblet with Hunt Scene, Circa 1840-60 Silesia is an historically important glass making region of Europe. ;The glass, of bell form, with beautifully engraved horseman and hounds with grape vine and wheat sprays. ;The bowl is raised on a circular foot. ;This pieces was made with a wonderfully detailed engraved design of a fox hunting scene for the British market. A pokel was a goblet with a stemed foot and a cover, often missing today. ;It was passed amongst the guests for drinking a toast on a festive occasion, hence sometimes called a Gesundheitsglas.
