Outstanding and rare cut, acid etched and enameled glass tumbler. Made 19th century. Exact origin unknown but clearly top European factory (Moser, Heckert and especially WIener Werkstatte come to mind when looking at the style and quality). 5 1/8inches high. Tumbler is cut in regular geometric pattern with elongated facets in a band around the bottom, narrow part of the glass. Upper rim is gilded. The main decoration consists of a deeply etched, enameled and gilded pattern. Cobalt blue with some burgundy / red enamel and lots of gilding. The central theme is pairs of mirror-image swans separated by scrolling foliage. The quality of this work is without parallel. Condition is very good except for negligible wear to gilding on rim.
