Beautiful late Victorian/Edwardian period small lidded barrel - for biscuits or maybe chocolates would be preferable. The barrel has an etched middle section bordered top and bottom by small hobnail crystal. Small bands of cut vertical lines make up the very top and bottom edges. Starburst cut into the base of the barrel. The lid and swing handle are silver plated, the lid having a striped design. With the handle folded down, it measures 13 cm high, and 8.5 cm diameter (5 inches by 3.5/16 inch). Very good condition.
