Pristine set comprising 2 decanters and 12 shot glasses produced by renowned master smith Louis Coignet, successor Charles-Alfred Coignet in 1893. Louis XVI styling, with repousse braided laurel leaf borders on the solid .950 sterling shot glasses, as well as the sterling decanter collars and stoppers. The shots all generously coated with 18k gold interiors. The set comes in the original box, lined with white silk and softest glove quality suede. There remain applied "argent garanti" labels on many of the pieces, which suggests the set was never used. The superb condition of the set would confirm this. The only signs of age are a slight discoloration of portions of the lining, mild wear on the outer box, and a light hairline scrape or two on the crystal. Of course, there are no monograms. All silver is marked with the French guarantee for .950 sterling; the Minerve 1st titre; as well as the Louis Coignet maker's punch. Understated elegance, excellent condition and completeness make this offering an excellent gift.
Dimensions: the decanters slightly vary in size. One is 7.75" tall, 3.25 diameter at the widest. The other is 7.5" tall, 3" diameter. The shot glasses are 1 5/8" tall, 1.5" diameter at the tops.
