For sale is a wonderful piece of Art Glass blown by Josef Rindskopf of Bohemia. This is now the modern day Czech Republic. The Item is call a "Twisted Pinched Ribbed Trefoil" Vase. The Vase stands 6 3/4" tall. The bottom bulbous area has a diameter of 3 1/4" and the top of the vase is 2 7/8" in diameter.
This Vase is for those who are looking to collect Nice examples of Rindskopf Art Glass. The Base Glass is a Moss Green. The Vase has a Twisted Pinched Form on Three Sides and a Tri-Fold Top. The top has a fire polished rolled edge. This is very Art Nouveau in Style and is typical of a Rindskopf shape. I would consider this a Floriform Shape as well. The Vase has vertical ribbing that rises from the bottom and slightly twists as it rises to the top lip. The exterior of the Glass has beautiful Iridescence to it. You can see beautiful deep Fuchsia's Green and Blues.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The piece is unsigned as is the Case with Rindskopf pieces of Art Glass. They more than likely had a paper label. The Vase does have a pontil scar on the bottom. This means the Vase was blown and cut from the bottom much like their American counterparts Tiffany, Steuben, Quezal and Durand.
I have been a collector and dealer for some 35+ years. I have only seen a few of these Vases in this form through the years. Many of the famous Auction houses have attributed this to be made by Loetz. Remember to identify your glass first by shape. This is a Rindskopf shape and not Loetz! This is a wonderful Art Glass Vase to add to your Collection. I'm quite sure the Buyer will cherish this Vase for years to come. This Vase was made in the early 1900's, Circa 1905-1920.
