This is a great antique oak boxed newel post, circa 1905. It has an acorn-shaped finial and chamfered edges with a balustrade form detail. Each side of the newel features a fabulous sunburst roundel and is followed by fluted panels. This beautiful box newel post is in very good antique condition and has been partially stripped, excluding the finial, which retains the original color. It is 45 ½†tall and 7 5/8†wide.
