A marvelous antique box newel post in walnut with green paint, dating from the 1870’s. Salvaged from a home in Pittsburgh, PA, this boxed newel features carved rosettes with scalloped borders near the top, with chamfered edges and a groove pattern coming down to pairs of smaller rosettes halfway down. The grooves and chamfered edges continue below. The newel post measures 10-1/2†wide and 52†tall.
