This is a stately antique oak boxed newel post from the early 1900’s. It has a simple acorn-shaped finial and chamfered edges with a balustrade form detail. Each side of the newel below the finial features a handsome, large roundel. Below the roundels, the sides are fluted, with smaller roundels accenting the center of the fluting. This wonderful box newel post is in excellent condition. The finial has been stripped to display the beautiful grain of the wood. The newel is 54†tall and 7 ¼†wide.
