Amazing antique heart of pine salvaged fireplace mantel, dating from the 1800's, with marvelous aged and crackled paint. The top of the mantel begins with a beveled shelf with projecting sections, moving down to a horizontal band of beveled edges stair-stepping in. Below this band, the center panel of the mantel features bold reeding. On either side is a vertical panel with a raised rectangle and surrounding beveled borders. The mantel legs feature a similar design, elongated for emphasis. The mantel has been painted multiple colors in the past - light green, black, cream - which has worn away over the years, giving the piece an incredible distressed finish. The mantel is in very good antique condition; it measures 77" wide, 57" tall, and 7-1/2" deep, and has a firebox opening of approximately 49" wide and 36-3/4†tall.
