Wonderful boxed newel post with a foliate newel cap, dating from the early 1900s. This box newel features a simple body with beaded trim panels, the upper ones embellished with flower rosettes. The middle body features recessed panels with ribbon and bellflower details. The newel has been painted red with a brown finial, and a banister piece protrudes from one of the four sides. It is in good antique condition with some chips and wear as shown. The newel post measures 7-3/4†wide and 68†tall.
