This is an antique dough bin from France, commonly referred to as a petrin. It is made of European walnut, in exquisite overall condition. The front drops down revealing a great use for storage. Petrin's were mostly used to store grain in the winter. It is locking and has a great Provincial structure with elaborate carvings. French craftsmanship at its best, very functional for any design! Circa around the end of the 19th Century. 48W X 21D X 38H.
