This is a beautiful three panel screen in the Eastlake tradition. It is ebonized mat black wood with gold painted inner ridges. There is anice gallery turned trim on both the top and bottom of the screen. The three panels of the screen have been covered with a English Victorian handpainted silk textile. Each panel depicts a group of colorful flowers and a butterfly or moth. All three panels have different flowers. The textile is signed by the artist MCA and dated 1905. The back of the screen has a simple dark fabric upholstery. The screen and textile coverings are in very good vintage condition but show slight wear and nicks to the feet as would be expected in a piece of furniture of this age. The finish trim on each panel is a floral cotton lace embellished with French lingerie ribbon and flowers. This was a project of my previous design firm Nightingale Designs and was assembled in the late 1980''s. It has been in my home as a wall decoration since my store closed. Because the hinges are old the screen does not fold and will need to be tranported by a professional shipper. All pick up, wrapping and shipping are the buyer''s choice and the buyers expense.
