Old Refinish, Warm Reddish Brown Patina. Excellent Condition. Purchased From The Oldest Frame Structure House In Vermont Which Is The Jedediah Dewey House in Old Bennington on Monument Avenue. As you face the Old First Church in Old Bennington it is the second house on the right. When I found it it was in the collection of Mrs. Peg Ellis who was in a wheel chair by oral history her daughter stated she purchased this dining table in Boston from Israel Sack on Charles Street. I contacted Albert Sack the son of Israel Sack, who examined the table in person and loved it. Mr. Sack stated he was unable to go back some 50 or 60 plus years in business sales conducted by his father who started the business (Israel Sack, Inc.) on Charles Street, in Boston due to a loss of business records managed by the business in their move from Boston to NYC as the business grew and Albert being away as an enlisted soldier in the war. Albert Sack was unable to confirm the oral tradition presented by the Ellis family. I am presenting this table with the attribution of this story supplied to me by the Ellis family and Mr. Sack personal examination of the table to be true and correct, too the best of my knowledge and efforts afford. Warm Mellow Nut Brown Patina. Circa: 1765-1785 Length: 45'' Height: 29'' Depth: 14 3/4'' Leaves: 14 3/4'' (each)
