This is a set of four well crafted Pennsylvania House dining chairs, each crafted after the original designs of Philadelphia Chippendale using solid cherry hardwoods and pinned tenon-mortise joinery. The crest is cupid-bow in form, splaying upward in sharp well formed ears, the Queen Anne style splat identifying this as a chair after the transitional period around 1760. Each skirt is carefully scalloped, flowing symmetrically into the carved returns and cabriole legs over drake feet.
In terms of late 20th Century reproductions, these are quite superior. With a nice airiness about the overall design, they flow with close proportion to the originals. The set is incredibly sturdy, strong and fully functional, ready for regular use in an active household. In overall outstanding condition, this is a set you will enjoy for a lifetime.
