Rare & Important Late 17th C English Jacobean Oak Gateleg Table. A rare and important oval joined gateleg table of early form. With well shaped bold spiral barley twist legs and stretchers. Good thick top with wonderful mellow dark oak color and patina. Supported by full height bold vase shaped feet. English. Circa 1690. This table is similar in form to a table shown in an important reference book (without the central decorated stretcher) on page 311, figure 3:234.
