circa: 1890 width: 66 height: 37 length: 28 This beautiful mahogany sideboard was originally crafted in England during the late Victorian period, around 1890. The mahogany has aged very well over the years and now reveals a light patina and very subtle grain. The color of the mahogany is complimented by narrow bandings of inlaid satinwood, as well as crossbanded darker mahogany borders. The satinwood can also be found in the form of leaf shaped inlays on the cabinets and lower drawer. Because the wood is such a neutral color, it should go well with almost any other wood in your home! However, the best thing about this sideboard is its unusual shape. This style is very difficult to find, making them quite rare and valuable in comparison to more traditional sideboards. Also, the unique shape allows this sideboard to fit into corners quite nicely, which is what they were designed for.The drawers of this sideboard feature hand-cut dovetailed joints as well as solid brass pulls. The brass pulls are quite nice and have a small lion''s head at the center. The cabinets are quite spacious, and though they have locks there is no key. Overall, the condition of this piece is good. It does have the few the expected scratches and dings, but nothing that detracts from the overall appearance. This piece is quite a nice find and should make a lovely addition to any home. Don''t miss your opportunity to bid on this Victorian period sideboard today!
