circa: 1890 width: 36 height: 83 length: 13 This hand carved oak halltree is an exquisite example of Victorian furniture. Made in England around 1890 everything about this piece is a marvel to behold. The eight wooden hangers are in great shape and very strong. The mirror is in good condition and there is a small shelf below the mirror for display purposes. This hallstand boasts one drawer that pulls open via a carved lions head handle. The drawer is dovetailed on both the front and back, a sign of superior quality craftsmanship. There are two removable black trays at the bottom to rest wet umbrellas or canes (sticks as the English would refer to them as) in. The entire piece is decorated in elaborate hand carvings, so indicative of the Victorian era of furniture making. This piece is in excellent condition. There is a small age separation to one of the panels shown in the pictures, but this is a purely cosmetic phenomenon and does not affect the structural integrity of the piece. Overall this is a wonderful piece that will make a perfect addition to any entryway or hallway.
