circa: 1890 width: 39 height: 41 length: 20 This gorgeous yew chest of drawers was English-made by hand in Victorian England around 1890. Having undergone a recent restoration that includes new hardware, new yew veneers and a new base, the chest now looks remarkably stunning. The yew displays a deep, lustrous complexion and a striking grain, which are complemented by the lovely string ebony inlay. Each drawer of course features hand-cut dovetailed joints and still operates smoothly, while the shaped bracket feet are as sturdy as they are elegant. Because the veneers are new, there is really no wear to speak of, although the yew has been hand-distressed to look like an antique. The locks also no longer function, but otherwise this chest remains in excellent condition.
