Another superb example of Period American Empire furniture. Rare all original, mirrored, Classically styled dressing chest. Beautifully matched, highly figured mahogany veneers throughout, compliment the tall graceful tapered octagon columns which support the ogee mirror and end in fine turned finials. The chest is comprised of one large long drawer, under two smaller serpentine frieze drawers. The smaller drawers are opened via unseen hand holds with no hardware or key holes to interrupt the exquisite matched veneers. There is one additional drawer in the stepped back surmount beneath the mirror. The top surface is fine solid mahogany. The handsome pedestal is urn shaped and sits on a platform base with four "s" scrolled legs. The entire pedestal is also fine matched mahogany veneers. Four original "Sandwich Glass" knobs, original brass mirror swivels, brass and wood casters and original flat plate glass mirror. Original finish, repaired small veneer losses, cleaned and polished. Over all fine original condition. 82" tall (with casters) x 37" wide, 23 1/2" deep.
