Circa 1880 Aesthetic/Renaissance Victorian lockside chest, solid and beautiful burl walnut, six drawers, original solid brass ring pulls with stylized bowtie backplates, great incised carving on paneled/pilaster corners, carved rosettes on top drawer, scrolled burl trim on bottom drawers, center drawers have reeded edge burl panel with double dental burl moldings, replaced crest with great carved leaf/rosette and classical anthenium leaf panels, double paneled sides.
62" tall (9" carved back), 36" wide, 20" deep.
Condition – great original finish/patina, normal nicks/scratches, shows some crazing to finish, replaced carved backcrest.
